Know where your work comes from, and what it earns.
Most self-employed inspectors cannot say, without opening a spreadsheet, how many jobs they did last month or which agent sends them the most. Those two numbers decide where to put your energy.
The file dashboard

- Inspection volume for the month, the year and the last twelve months, in bars.

- How well your sources are filled in: how many files out of the total carry a known origin.
- Distance travelled and the matching deduction, at CRA or IRS rates.

The number that decides where your energy goes
The referral sources table is the one that changes decisions. An inspector generally believes they know where their work comes from; they are almost always wrong about the proportions.
Ranked, the sources say concrete things: which agent deserves a thank-you call before the holidays, which one quietly stopped sending work without you noticing, and how much of your volume depends on a single person. That last one is a business risk, not a statistic.
The 'X of Y filled in' counter exists for a reason: a source table is only worth anything if you record the origin. If it says 12 of 80, the table is lying, and it tells you so rather than letting you conclude.
Finding a file two years later
A former client calls back because a buyer is disputing something, or because they are reselling. Search and filters find the file by client, address or state, and everything is still there: the photos, the findings, the delivered report and the signed agreement.
FAQ
Can I see which agent refers the most clients?
Yes. The referral sources table ranks the contacts sending you work, with their contact details, and it also shows how many of your files carry a recorded origin so you know how reliable the ranking is.
Do the statistics cover the whole team?
What you see depends on your role. An inspector sees their own practice; the 'company figures' permission gives the firm-wide view, and it is flagged as sensitive because it opens revenue.
Can I recover a deleted file?
Yes. A deleted file goes to the trash and can be restored. Nothing disappears on one unlucky click.
