The inspection report

The same work, delivered in two formats, with no manual layout.

With most competitors the report is a PDF emailed out. Habita produces both: a web report your client opens in a browser, and the PDF they will download for their lawyer or their contractor. Both come out of the same inspection, with no double entry.

Layout that takes care of itself

  • The report is generated from the photos and findings already captured, with no formatting step.
  • Cover page with the property photo, your logo and your contact details.
  • Report color theme, adjustable down to an eyedropper that picks the shade out of your own logo.
  • Inspector signature, drawn on screen or uploaded.
  • Building orientation diagram, so the elevations named in findings can be located.
  • Numbered sections and subsections, table of contents and side navigation.

A preview editor, not a black box

Before sending, the report opens in a preview editor showing exactly what the client will see. You fix a caption, move a finding, reread a section, and the preview follows live.

  • Faithful page-by-page preview of the final document.
  • Section navigation panel to jump straight where you want.
  • Completion indicator: what is still missing before you can deliver.
  • Continuous auto-save, with a status dot confirming the save.

Three export formats, and why DOCX matters

The report comes out as PDF, DOCX and HTML.

The PDF is what your client keeps. The HTML is the web report they consult. The DOCX is the one nobody talks about and the one that saves evenings: it is the format you open when a lawyer asks for an extract, when a client wants an annotated version, or when a passage has to be reused in another document. A report that exists only as a PDF locks in its own author.

The PDF export defaults to your client's language, with the other language one click away if you need both.

Delivery

  • Sharing by secure link that you control.
  • PDF download by the client, at any time.
  • An English or French version of the report without redoing the inspection.
  • Photos keep their orientation and their caption in every format.

How the client receives the report

FAQ

Does the report follow a recognised standard?

It is built around the standard of practice you choose in your settings, including CAN/CSA A770, CAHPI, ASHI and InterNACHI. The service agreement and the closing wording are rewritten accordingly, so the report never asserts a standard you do not follow.

Can I put the report in my own brand?

Yes: your logo, your contact details, your signature and the color of your choice, picked from your logo if you want. The report carries your brand, not ours.

Does the client get a PDF or a web page?

Both. They open an interactive web report through a secure link and can download the PDF whenever they need it. There is nothing extra for you to produce: both come out of the same inspection.
